Janie Fern Cross

Janie Fern Cross, 72, of Fort Worth TX, passed away April 11, 2023, of unknown causes. Janie was born on July 8, 1950, to G.W. and Doris McDowell. She was born and raised in Fort Worth. She retired from Cook Children’s hospital in 2020. She was part of the Fort Worth Bicycling Association in her youth. She had a passion for Israel, and loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was always there for her kids and grandkids when they needed her. She was gracious in forgiveness and lived by Ephesians 4:32 which teaches us, “be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ”.

She is survived by her father G.W. McDowell, brother James McDowell, Sister Barbara Moore, her children Travis McKelroy, Nathaniel Cross, and Cassie Calles, and her 7 grandchildren Colt, Cloe, Jaxon, Clarissa, Bree, Zachary, and Lillian.

She was preceded in death by her mother Doris McDowell, and her brother Gerrel McDowell.

Services will be held at Spring Creek Baptist Church on April 21st, 2023. Visitation will start at 12PM and the funeral will commence at 2PM.
