Andy Doris Bohannan

Andy Doris "Doye" Bohannan, age 92, of Glen Rose, formerly of Bridgeport, Meridian, and Walnut Springs, passed away early Tuesday morning, June 9, 2015 at a Glen Rose nursing facility.

Graveside funeral services were Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Walnut Springs with Minister Craig Shackleford and Jess Blakley officiating. A visitation was held on Friday, June 12, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian.

Pallbearers were Harlos Ray Guyton, Robert Shipman, Johnny Bybee, Jose Montellano, Gary Whittle, and Lloyd Wirt. Honorary Pallbearers were Lesley Griffin and Wesley Griffin.

Doye, as she was known by all her family and many friends, was born April 13, 1923, in Walnut Springs, Texas. She was a daughter of the late Andy and Ruth Allen Polnac. She was raised and educated in Walnut Springs. On April 24, 1950, she was united in marriage to Bob Bohannan in Rogers, Arkansas. The couple lived in Meridian from 1950 until 1969, when they moved to Bridgeport. She was a member of the Glenview Church of Christ in Glen Rose.

Doris is survived by her son: Neal A. Dismukes and wife, Hilda of Blossom; daughter: Bobbye Doye Richey and husband, Gary of Bridgeport; grandchildren: Kelley Bonner and husband, Terry, Allen Dismukes and wife, Dona, Curtis Dismukes and wife, Soojin, Gary Richey Jr. and wife, Rose, Kim Swann and husband, David, Kassi Burns and husband, Damon, Tammy Ray and husband, Jamie; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; special nieces: Becci Shipman and husband, Robert, Nancy Bybee and husband, Johnny; and a number of other relatives and a host of friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Bob Bohannan; parents: Andy and Ruth Allen Polnac; brothers: Kenneth Polnac, Dwayne Polnac; sister: Camilla Ruth Lemens; and a granddaughter: Ruth Dismukes.
