Arlene Brown Carlisle of Kopperl, passed away at the ripe old age of 101, on Saturday, February 24, 2018, in a Clifton care facility.
Arlene was born May 14, 1916, in Clifton, Texas. She was a daughter of the late Chester Brown and Rosa Lee Hammonds Brown and was the last offspring of seven other siblings who passed on before her. She enjoyed a long, mostly happy life, especially after her marriage to H. C. Carlisle, Jr. on June 13, 1936. He preceded her in death on January 16, 1980. To that happy marriage a son was born, Ronnie (Ron) Carlisle, on August 17, 1941. He was the "light of both their lives" and up until her death, Arlene always referred to Ron as "her little boy".
The family will hold a memorial service at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, May 14, 2018 (which would have been her 102nd birthday) in the Kopperl United Methodist Church. Rev. Kent Berry will officiate. A family meal and gathering will be held at the church from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
Arlene was a long time member of the Kopperl United Methodist Church. She almost never missed a Sunday service, and was very active and supportive of the church as well as many other community services. She was a dedicated homemaker, the Matriach of the family and although loving all, she definitely could get her point across. She was loved by all of her family and will be greatly missed.
Arlene is survived by her son, Ron, his wife of 58 years, Marion; three grandsons, Craig, Tom, and Dave; four great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; three great-great-grandsons; and one great-great-granddaughter; a host of other relatives and friends, all of whom she lived dearly.
