Betty Hickox was born on May 25, 1933 in Mangum, Oklahoma to John Frank and Thelma Armstrong Bowman. She married Tommie L. Hickox on June 8, 1956 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Betty is survived by her sons: Tommie Hickox Jr, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Lynn Hickox and his wife, Lesley, from Fort Worth, Texas; two grandchildren: Joshua Hickox of Fort Worth and Sarah Freeman and her husband, Steve, of Abilene, Texas

She obeyed the gospel very early in life and made the decision to be baptized again in 1963. Betty went to work for the Everman ISD to help make ends meet. She proudly served in the cafeteria and took leave when Tommie got sick. After his death, she returned and was fortunate to retire from there. Her faith, and her love for Tommie permeated in all she did and since Tommie's death in 1996, her longtime desire was to be in his arms again. On October 31, 2015 she was able to do that.
