Betty Jo Myers, age 85, of Morgan, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 in Waco, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 16, 2016 at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian with Rev. Kenneth Stevens and Steve Merrill officiating. Burial will be at the Kimball Cemetery near Kopperl. Viewing will be from 8:00 A.m. until 4:00 P.M., Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Lawson Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Keith Harris, Kent Harris, Kelly Harris, Mike Rich, Ronnie Sumners, and Jerry Sumners.

Betty Jo Harris was born on October 23, 1931 in Morgan, Texas to Sterling and Fannie Mae Terry Harris. She was raised and educated in Morgan. Betty worked at the Cow Pasture Bank in Rio Vista for 35 years. She was a song director at the First Baptist Church in Morgan for 15 years. Betty married Clifford J. Myers on July 1, 1950 in Valley Mills, Texas. Together they had one son Stanley. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memories are her son, Stanley J. Myers and wife, Gay, of Morgan; granddaughter, Pamela Williams and husband, Michael, of Meridian; great-grandchildren, Skiler Williams of Valley Mills, Jordan and Ethan Williams both of Meridian; sister-in-law, Teddy Harris of Meridian; numerous other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, Sterling and Fannie Mae Harris; husband, Clifford Myers; brothers, Alton Wayne Harris, Don Harris; and companion, Albert Byrd.
