Billy Wayne "Pete" Pederson, age 86, of Clifton, formerly of Meridian, passed away Monday, June 6, 2016, in the Lutheran Sunset Home in Clifton.
Memorial funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, June 13, 2016, at the Rock Church on the grounds of St. Olaf Lutheran Cemetery near Cranfills Gap. Pastor Becky Stensland and Pastor Cal Goerdel will officiate.
Billy was born on October 29, 1929 in the Mustang community near Cranfills Gap. He graduated from Cranfills Gap High School in 1948. On June 23, 1949 Billy and Alice Betty Ludwig of Clifton married at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in the Norse community. They lived in Fort Worth where Billy was a general machinist and retired from General Dynamics (Lockheed Martin). To this marriage were born two daughters, Sandra and Janet. Faith Lutheran Church in Fort Worth was their home church filled with years of service, including being charter members. They later would become members at Faith Lutheran Church in Meridian. In 1968 they moved to their farm on the Bosque River near Clifton enjoying grandchildren, more family, friends, and travel. Many were golfing buddies with Billy throughout his life and played as much as he could and had a long list of golf courses that he enjoyed playing. His golfing talent was not wasted since he taught all his three grandsons the love of the game, which they all continue to enjoy today. Billy and Alice were blessed even more with the addition of 8 great-grandchildren. He will be so missed for his hard work, humor, compassion, and what the grandkids called "Papo-ism's!" The greatest blessing was his love for Alice for 66 years. Billy (Dad and Papo) will be missed.
He is survived by his loving partner of 67 years, Alice , of Clifton; two daughters, Sandra Runyon and husband, Doug, of Kopperl and Janel Railsback and husband, Pat, of Glen Rose; his 5 grandchildren, Eric Zimmerman and wife, LeeAnn, of McKinney, Erin Williams and husband, Barry, of Frisco, Craig Railsback and wife, Jessica, of Midlothian, Kristy Shoemake and husband, Kirby, of Georgetown and Chad Railsback and wife, Krystal, of Trophy Club; great-grandchildren, Grant, Kyle, Maya, Gavin, Claire, Morgan, Molly, Peyton and Dalton; number of other relatives and a host of friends.
