March 31, 1974 — June 6, 2026

Walnut Springs, Texas

Bonifacio Eugene "Boni Gene" Vara, age 52, of Walnut Springs, passed away on June 6, 2026 leaving behind his family and numerous friends that will forever miss his presence and unmistakable spirit.

Boni Gene was the kind of man who never met a stranger whether you had known him for years or just met him. He had a way of making everyone feel welcomed. He could always strike up a conversation with anyone and was always willing to lend a helping hand, share a story, or make someone laugh. A true jack of all trades, Boni Gene could do a little of everything. He was not afraid of hard work and took pride in figuring things out, getting the job done and having fun while doing it. If something needed fixing, building, or trouble shooting, chances are he knew how to do it or he would find a way. Some of the best memories of Boni Gene are the simple ones. He enjoyed sitting out in the yard with his speaker playing music, a cold Keystone in hand, watching the day go by and visiting with whoever happened to stop by. Those moments are the ones he enjoyed the most in life, going back to his roots of a simple man in life. More then anything Boni Gene will be remembered for his kind heart, generosity, and the way he cared for people around him. His memory will live on in the stories shared by family and friends, in the lessons he taught and in the love he gave so freely. Until we meet again, Boni Gene you will be deeply missed, always loved and forever cherished.

Boni Gene is survived by his children, Jakob Vara and wife, Holly, Jorge Ann Vara, Burl Vara; grandchildren, Kamryn and Karson Vara; mother of his children, Misty Gibson; siblings, Timothy Conner, J.J.
