Brandon Allen Powell, age 29, of Port Aransas, Texas, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, in a Galveston hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 8, 2017, in the Lawson Funeral Home Chapel in Meridian. Burial in the Morgan Cemetery. Pastor Bobby Timms, Jr. will officiate.

Brandon was born May 2, 1987, in Mesquite, Texas, son of Bruce E. Powell and Barbara Jean Timms Powell. He was working as a welder for a pipeline company.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Timms Tanzer and husband, Scott, of Port Aransas; father, Bruce Edwin Powell of Possum Kingdom; son, Cayden Williams Stricklin; paternal grandmother, Wilma Powell; maternal grandmother, Patsy Timms of Port Aransas; sisters, Jennifer Arnold and husband, Bret, of Dallas, Ashley Cook and husband, Austin, of Commerce; numerous other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bobby W. Timms, paternal grandfather, Dick Powell, cousins, Trease Moore and Marjorie Ann Timms.
