Carmel "Carmen" Woosley age 66, of Meridian, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at her residence.
Funeral Services were held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 24, 2014 at the Bosque County Cowboy Church between Meridian and Clifton on SH # 6 with Tater Paschal, Henry Cortez, and Rudy Cortez officiating. Interment was in the Meridian Memorial Cemetery on SH # 144. Pallbearers were Manuel Villarreal Jr., Martin Del Bosque, Valentin Cerna, Gonzalo Cerna, Adam Sanchez, Ben Rodriguez.
Visitation was from 5:00P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian, Texas.
Mrs. Woosley was born on August 19, 1948 in Mathis, Texas to Gilberto and Matea Olivarez Martinez. She worked as a seamstress for several years for Walls in Clifton worked as a self employed seamstress and later for Zapata's Restaurant in Meridian. She was a member of the Bosque County Cowboy Church.
She is survived by her children: Dolores Hallmark of Granbury, Texas, BeLinda Hernandez of Walnut Springs, Tony Gomez and wife, Gwen, of Meridian; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters: Jesusa Del Bosque of Clifton, Texas, Hermina Longoria of Mathis, Texas, Ofelia Villarreal of Belton, Texas, and Elodia Sanchez of Bynum, Texas; brothers: Leonardo Martinez of Bynum, Texas, Manuel Villarreal of Grover Beach, California.
She is preceded in death by her husband Durwood Woosley; parents: Gilberto and Matea Olivarez Martinez, sisters: Julia Rodriguez, Emma Cortes; brother: Gilberto Martinez Jr.; and grandsons: Alex Kelly and Johnny Gonzales.
