Charles Aaron Calahan, age 67, of Morgan, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2016 in a Waco hospital.
Funeral services are going to be 1:00 P.M., Monday, September 5, 2016 in the Lawson Funeral Home Chapel in Meridian with Rev. David Gant officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until service time. Interment will be at the Kopperl Cemetery in Kopperl, Texas. Pallbearers will be Brett Spurgeon, Kevin King, Bob Wilkins, Chance Lavender, David Williams, Brian Taylor, Troy Bachhofer, and Gary Wayne Fields.
Charles Aaron Calahan was born on August 4, 1949 in Meridian, Texas to Thomas Flournoy and Nannie Rosell Hunt Calahan. He graduated from Kopperl High School and started attending Hill Junior College shortly after graduation. Charles married Norma Fields on August 7, 1971 in Cranfills Gap, Texas. Charles was a truck driver for many years until his health failed and he was no longer able. He is a retired foreman doing Railroad salvage.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Calahan of Morgan; children, Beverly Calahan of Lakeside Village, Aaron Calahan and wife, Julie, of Clifton, T.J. Calahan and wife, Valerie, of Crawford; grandchildren, Destanie Calahan, Hunter Calahan, A.J. Calahan, LeeAnn Calahan; sisters, Cindy McCallon and husband, Pepper, of Auke Bay, Alaska, Kay Lavender and husband Jimmy, of Rio Vista; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, Thomas F. and Nannie Rosell Hunt Calahan, and a brother, Leslie (Buster) Hadley.
