Charles Alton Dickey, Sr.

Charles Alton Dickey, Sr. age 83 of Morgan, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 in a Clifton nursing facility.

Funeral services will be 2 P.M., Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian. Bro. Jerry Lindsey will officiate. Burial will be in the Morgan Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M., Friday, September 14, 2018 at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian. Pallbearers will be the grandsons of Charles.

Charles Alton Dickey was born on November 23, 1934 in Cleburne, Texas to Charlie Emmett and Martha Jayne Terry Dickey. He married Leona Jean Hanshew on May 19, 1962 in Itasca, Texas. Charles worked as a mechanic for a number of years at Comanche Peak.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Leona Dickey of Morgan; daughters, Sandra Spurling and husband, Jerry, Janie Pinnell and husband, Harland, Nora Mayberry and husband, Dan, Angie Irby and husband, Jerry; sons, Charles Dickey, Jr. and wife, Diane, Alan Dickey and wife, Helen, Wes Dickey, Rusty Dickey and wife, Pattie, Paul Dickey and wife, Kami; 32 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Reba Rogers; 2 sisters-in-law; 4 brothers-in-law; extended family, Billie Ruth and Ricky Don Jourden, Mike and Cindy Drain, Donna Kay and Jerry Jones, Arlene Swiney, Gay and Stanley Myers, Doug and Roseann Swiney;  mannieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Emmett and Martha Jayne Dickey; brother, Ronnie Dave Dickey; sister, Joyce Merle Rich; and grandchildren, Craig Spurling and Randy Dickey.
