Clayton Carl Appleby, age 39, of Alvord, Texas passed away May 10, 2026.
He was born on May 22,1986 in Dallas, Texas. Clay was known for his very quick, dry wit and loud laughter. He was a devoted and loving dad to his children. Loved animals of all kinds and was not afraid of hard work or to lend a helping hand. And his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. But mostly he believed in the underdog having the following tattooed on his left forearm “Every Sinner has a future.”
He was affectionately known as a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in family. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He is survived by his children, Clayton James (CJ) Appleby, Lakelynn Appleby, Kiley Renee Appleby; father, J. Alan Appleby (stepmother, Delores Appleby); mother, Melissa S. Devore (stepfather, Scott Devore); siblings, Jeffrey Chase Appleby, Alandri Appleby-Dudic, Colbi Appleby, Jessica Canizares, Gabrielle Devore; and many more nieces, nephews and other relatives.
