Darel Joseph Campbell, age 53, was born on July 25, 1972, in Meridian, Texas, and went to be with his Lord on April 24, 2026, in Cleburne, Texas. 

Darel was a proud graduate of Meridian High School, where he made many lifelong friends. He went on to serve honorably in the United States Army for six years. After his military service, he worked at George Bush International Airport in Houston, Texas. 

Darel had a deep love for aviation, he was fascinated by helicopters, airplanes, jets, and drones. Above all, he cherished his family and friends. His legacy is one of humor, perseverance through hardship, and genuine kindness. He was truly one of a kind. 

Darel’s warmth and friendliness left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His laughter could brighten any room, and his smile was unforgettable. He made an effort to remember birthdays and took the time to learn and recall each person’s name, making everyone feel seen and valued. He not only loved telling a good story but also enjoyed listening to others. For Darel, being surrounded by family and friends was his idea of heaven on earth—he simply wanted to be surrounded by joy. 

He is survived by his daughter, Erin Campbell of Nashville TN; his brother, Daniel Campbell and family of Detriot MI ; and his parents, Betty and Larry Campbell of Morgan, Texas. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Darel will be greatly missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him. 

A private memorial service for family will be held at a later date. The family asks for continued prayers in lieu of flowers.
