David Lee Wilson, age 67, of Meridian, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2017, at Providence Hospital in Waco due to complications of injuries sustained while serving 3 tours of duty with the U. S. Marine Corps in Viet Nam.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 24, 2017, in the Lawson Funeral Home Chapel. Family members will conduct the service. The U. S. Marine Corps will provide military honors.
Mr. Wilson was born Dec. 3, 1949, in Mooreland, Oklahoma where he was raised and educated. He enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps in 1967 and was honorably discharged in 1970. Mr. Wilson received 3 Purple Hearts, 2 Bronze Stars as well as several commendations for his service. He resided in California where he worked as a chef for many years. He retired and moved to Meridian in 2001. On May 7, 1983, he was united in marriage to the former Marsha Lake in Las Vegas, Nevada.
David is survived by his wife, Marsha, of Meridian; children, Jarrod Wilson of Meridian, Travis Wilson and wife, Shanna, of New Braunfels; 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and another great-grandchild due soon; other relatives and friends.
