Deborah Lynn Allen, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family in Lakeside Village, Texas, on January 16, 2026, at the age of 69.
She was born on March 25, 1956, in Dallas, Texas.
Debbie was a bright light who touched the lives of many with her kindness, nurturing, and unwavering support.
Debbie had a passion for teaching others. She worked for many Bosque County schools sharing her compassion and patience with students and fellow teachers. Debbie was taught by her father-in-law, Ernie Allen, the business part of Allen’s Custom Mill. She took that over when he retired. She opened a video store in Lakeside Village so the community would have something to do.
Those who knew Debbie will forever cherish her warmth and honest spirit. She was the person who would be there in a minute if you needed her. Her nurturing personality was complemented by a dash of sarcasm and a fun sense of humor. She always made holidays feel magical. She loved to listen to music and was always up for a good movie. A wonderful cook, Debbie was known for preparing home-cooked meals that would make anyone feel happy and loved. She often took food to her friends that were too sick to cook for themselves. Debbie loved when we would have crawfish boils for her birthday, especially if we threw in some crab legs and shrimp.
Debbie and Gaylon’s love story began in their teens. They later married in Mesquite, Texas, before making Lakeside Village their home. Together, the couple created a life filled with love, laughter, and support. Debbie and Gaylon found joy in traveling all over on their Harley and spending weekends at the land making it beautiful. Debbie loved flowers and plants. Many times we would stop at nurseries to “smell the roses”and of course she never left empty-handed.
Her proudest accomplishments were rooted in her family; she was a devoted wife to Gaylon, a loving mother to her daughters, Tiffany and Brooke, and a spectacular grandmother to her grandchildren: JC Carlson, Debany Carlson, Rhylie Allen, Marcy Carlson, Ruby Carlson, and Gage Elam. She had just became a great-grandmother to Kash Whitehead and that made her so happy to see the new baby. Family gatherings were frequent, and Debbie’s home was a place where everyone felt welcome, especially during the holidays.
Debbie is survived by her loving husband, Gaylon Allen, daughters Tiffany Allen and Brooke Allen, along with her cherished grandchildren and great-grandson. She is also remembered by her brothers: Daniel Heath and his wife Jenny, Michael Heath, and sister, Terré Heath. Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Heath, and her mother, Linda Heath.
A funeral service to celebrate Debbie’s life will be held on January 19, 2026, at 1:00 P.M., at Lawson Funeral Home, located at 803 N Main St, Meridian, TX.
In her passing, Debbie leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unshakable family bonds. She was a remarkable woman whose life was defined by her devotion to family and friends, and her endless kindness. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
