Don Holmes

Don Allen Holmes, 68, of Crawford, died Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Hospital in Waco.

Don was born January 3, 1949, in Clifton, Texas. He was a life-long resident of the Crawford, Valley Mills area and was a member of the Patton Baptist Church in Valley Mills for many years.

He is survived by his son, Jimmy Don Holmes and wife, Lori, daughter Holly Mathis, and grandchildren, Jake Holmes, Kyle Holmes, Drew Mathis, Henry Mathis, Levi Faulknor, and Jaci Faulknor.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Ed Holmes and Nell Walker Holmes.

Don chose to be cremated and have his ashes buried next to his trusted companion and loyal dog, Newt, on the family home place.
