Edna Jean Rosenquist age 91, of Clifton, Texas and formerly of Meridian passed away on April 22, 2020.
Private graveside services will be held Monday, April 27, 2020 at the Meridian Cemetery. Public viewing will be held from 9 A.M. until 1 P.M., Monday, April 27, 2020 at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian, Texas.
Edna Jean Neystel was born on October 4, 1928 on a farm just south of Meridian on Old Clifton Highway to Oscar John and Luella Patterson Neystel. She lived on the farm until the mid 1940's when the family moved into Meridian where she resided all of her life. Jean worked for the Texas Department of Human Services for 40 years. She was known as the old age assistance when she started. She married Alton L. Oswald in 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1970. Jean married Floyd Rosenquist in 1971 and he also preceded her in death in 1999. She was a member of the Meridian Baptist Church and she will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish her memories are her son, Gayle Rosenquist; daughter/niece whom she raised, Shayne Jackson; great-great-nephews who spent a lot of time in her home and were practically considered her grandsons, Kaleb, Kendal, and Kolton Jackson; grandson, Stephen David Bryant and wife, Brandi; great-grandsons, Hunter and Tyler Bryant; great-great-great-granddaughters, Kallie and Kimber Jackson; numerous close friends; especially Betty Regain who helped her stay home as long as possible; Joyce McDowell who treated her like her second mother, other family members and friends.
Preceded in death by her husbands; parents; son, Billy Oswald; and nephew, Ray Neystel.
