Freddie Pauline McGinnis

October 13, 1934 — May 2, 2025

Iredell, Texas

Freddie Pauline McGinnis, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in her home on May 2, 2025, at the age of 90, surrounded by the love and presence of her family. Born on October 13, 1934, in Jacksonville, Florida, Freddie’s life was a beautiful testament to joy, kindness, and unwavering devotion.

From a young age, Freddie shined brightly. She grew up in Green Cove Springs, Florida, where her spirited personality and talent for baton twirling made her unforgettable. That spark never faded; even in her later years, she could still twirl with grace and glee, delighting those around her with the same exuberance she had as a girl.

Freddie’s career included serving as an esteemed Clerk for Judge Rivers, but the role she cherished most was that of a mother. With boundless love, she raised her four sons, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and compassion. Her nurturing spirit, gentle wisdom, and endless patience shaped not only her children but all who were lucky enough to be part of her world.

She is survived by her sons: Frank McGinnis, Fred McGinnis and his wife Geneva, Jack McGinnis and his wife Zita, and John McGinnis and his wife Lisa. Her legacy lives on through them, through the lessons she taught, the values she embodied, and the love she gave so freely.

Freddie’s heart stretched across generations. She was the proud matriarch of a large and loving family that included grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She delighted in their company, meeting each child at their level, whether playing dolls or tossing a ball—always fully present, always full of joy. Her laugh was contagious, her hugs unforgettable, and her love unconditional.

To know Freddie was to be welcomed into a circle of grace and kindness. She had a rare gift: the ability to make everyone feel seen, heard, and truly valued. She never judged, always listened, and offered advice with quiet wisdom and a warm smile. As a Master Gardener, she tended not just her plants but the people around her, helping them bloom with care and encouragement.

Her faith was deep and abiding, a guiding light in her life. She adored the Lord, and we take comfort in knowing she is now cradled in His eternal embrace. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francis McGinnis, her parents Lars and Mary Andreassen, her sister, and one dearly missed grandchild.

A graveside service will be held at Acton Cemetery in Granbury, Texas, on May 11, 2025, at 12:00 PM. As we gather to honor Freddie, we celebrate a life that overflowed with love, light, and selfless giving. She was a remarkable woman whose memory will forever be a blessing and whose legacy of love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lawson Funeral Home, Meridian, Texas 254-435-2792.
