Gerry Robinson

Gerry A Robinson age 63, of Kopperl, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the Kopperl Methodist Church in Kopperl, Texas with Rev. Kent Berry and Rev. Dr. Allen Goss officiating. Burial will be at the Kopperl Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian. Pallbearers will be Monte Armour, Steve Atkins, Randy Atkins, H.L. Adcock, Curry Regan, and Lyle Regan.

Gerry A Robinson was born on December 31, 1953 in Meridian, Texas to Louis Earl and Myrtle Frances Jones Robinson. He was raised and educated in Kopperl. After he graduated high school he attended Hill Community College for a short period before he transferred to Tarleton State University in Stephenville. Gerry graduated from Tarleton State University with his Bachelors degree in Education. After receiving his teachers certificate he started coaching and teaching. He worked at Blum, Venus, Huckabee, Iredell, Lakeview, Kopperl, Covington, and Star. Gerry also worked at Westphalia ISD after his retirement from full time teaching and coaching. He married Lisa Perry on July 25, 1980 in Kopperl, Texas. He was a member of the Kopperl Masonic Lodge #292 where he was a 32nd degree Mason. In his free time Gerry loved taking care of the Kopperl and Kimball Cemeteries, drinking his coffee, playing his guitar, golfing, or being a groupy for the Baggy Bottom Boys. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Left behind to cherish his memories are his wife, Lisa Robinson of Kopperl; children, Kellie Hyer and husband, Ashley, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Kimber Faver and husband, Galen, of Floresville, Texas, Ashley Browning and husband, Jon, of Saginaw, Jarrett Robinson of Kopperl; grandchildren, Gavin Jenogan, Kennedy Hyer, Ashley Hyer, III, Bryson Browning, and 1 on the way; siblings, Kathy Anderson and husband, Donald, of Cleburne, Sondra Twitty of Panama, Jerry Robinson and wife, Pam, of Kopperl; mother-in-law, Jenelle Murry of Kopperl; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and numerous friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Louis Earl and Myrtle Frances Jones Robinson; and brother, Louis Burnette Robinson in 2007.
