Glenn E. Heiney

August 28, 1927 — April 13, 2018

Glenn E. Heiney, age 90, of Meridian, passed away on Friday morning, April 13, 2018, on his ranch after several very painful months battling cancer. after being diagnosed in late December.  He never quit fighting.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 21, at 2:00 P.M. in the Riverside Baptist Church, 801 East Morgan Street, in Meridian with Rev. R. C. Kelley officiating.  Burial will be in the Meridian Memorial Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service time.

Glenn was born on August 28, 1927, in Herculaneum, Missouri and raised in Festus, Missouri.  He served with the U. S. Army during WWII.  Glenn worked as the farm manager for Golden Seed Company in Cordova, Illinois for several years.  Later he went into business for himself training horses and riders. He held horsemanship clinics across the United States as well as Canada, Mexico, Germany, France, Switzerland and Israel.  His life passion was working with people and horses.  Glenn was blessed to live his life doing what he loved  and  being surrounded by many who loved him.  He was united in marriage to Renee'  Sue Stephens on February 14, 1982 in Joshua, Texas.  Glenn and Renee' lived on their ranch just east of Meridian for years.  He was a member of the Riverside Baptist Church in Meridian. Glenn was a true gentleman who always had a kind word for  everyone.

He is survived by his wife, Renee' Heiney of Meridian; children, William H. Heiney and wife, Amy C. Heiney, of Meridian, Sandy K. Harlan of Hico, Glenn R. Heiney and significant other, Debra K. Penny of Maple City, Michigan; 4 grandchildren, Ben Heiney, Brian Heiney, Jennifer Saxton and Nichole Pack and 3 great-grandchildren; Jordan Carpenter, Madison Carpenter and Anne Marie Saxton; number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Josie Heiney; brothers, Marion, E. P., Vernon, Raymond and Arnold Heiney; sisters, Virgie Roth and Elsie Heiney.
