Harold Martyn Wellborn

Harold Martyn Wellborn age 83, of Morgan, passed away on September 22, 2022 in Waco, Texas.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian. Family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 P.M also at the funeral home.

Harold Martyn Wellborn was born on February 10, 1939 in Dallas, Texas to Paul Cecil and Fay Inez Gatlin Wellborn. He graduated from South Oakcliff High School in 1957. He married the love of his life Carolyn Gunderson Wellborn in 1965. Harold retired after 30 years from South Western Bell Telephone Company. After retirement he went back to work for Bosque County Transit and worked there until 2011. Harold also enjoyed serving his communities in different capacities, Kopperl ISD School Board, Mayor Protem and City Councilman for Desoto, Texas, Boy Scout Leader and also a member of the Masonic Lodge. He received his 50 years service award in 2012. He was a Junior Warden from 2015-2016 and a Worshipful Master from 2016-2017.He was a active and faithful member of the Kopperl Methodist Church. Harold was a good man who will be missed.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Carolyn Wellborn; children, David Wellborn, DeLayna Salas, Russell Wellborn; grandchildren, Rashay, Breanna, Jeramy, Amber, Ashton, Austin, Delita; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Nathaniel, Waylon William, Sarah Sue, Evy, Annalise, Michael, Caden, Braden, Kingsley, Oaklynn, Waylon; sister, Sara Crow; sister-in-law, Yvonne Till; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jodie Wadlow; nephew, Kevin Till; brothers-in-law, Chuck Gunderson and Rick Gunderson.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Harold's name to St. Jude's or Scottish Rites.
