Helen Lucille Dozier, 87, of Walnut Springs, passed away Saturday morning, August 15, 2015, at her residence.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. at the Memorial Methodist Church in Walnut Springs with Chaplain Glenn Murray officiating. A visitation was held from 5:00-7:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian. Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Walnut Springs.
Pallbearers were Kendal Ross, Jarrod Ross, Robert Davis, Matthew Davis, Arby Gonzales, and Chris Hilton.
Helen Dozier was born on February 29, 1928 in Olney, Texas to Iler and Ava Annie Keene Gray. She began working at American Airlines in 1946. She married Ralph Dozier on the Texas-Oklahoma weekend in 1948. She enjoyed hosting many foreign exchange students throughout the years. Helen loved traveling and looked forward to events with American Airlines Three Diamond Society and The Grey Eagles. She helped organize the American Airlines C.R. Smith Museum in Fort Worth before it opened. She was then a docent at the museum until 2011. Helen moved to Bosque County in 1971 and loved life here. She was a republican volunteer since 1964 and also held the Bosque County Republican Chair for 20 years. Helen was truly special, gracious, and will be missed by all.
Helen is survived by her children: Steven Ralph Dozier, Ava Lynn Davis, Cindy Ross-Stamp, Gary Claude Dozier, Brian Lee Dozier; grandchildren: Jennifer Lucille Davis, Robert Edward Davis; Matthew Lee Davis, Kalani Pearl Ross-Hardee, Jarrod Leland Ross, Kendal Lance Ross, Ryan Dozier, Melissa Ashley Dozier-Gonzales, Christine Elyse Dozier, Nicole Munoz; great-grandchildren: Jackson Wyatt Hardee, Jordan Kai Hardee, Emma Scout Ross, Vincie Claire Ross, Omri Jude Ross, Lance Donald Ross, Braydon Dozier, Corrina Dozier, Brinlee Munoz; nephew: Jerry Don Wilhem; nieces: Judy Barton, and Gail Oxendine Findlay
Preceded in death by her husband: Edward Ralph Dozier; siblings: Harold Gray, Merle Oxendine, Rosemary Gouldy, Dennis Gray, and Patsy Gray.
