Jack Lee Rowland Jr., 77, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on January 4, 2024. Jack was a man of faith and was born into this life on October 31st, 1946 in Meridian, Texas to Jack L. and Loree Bernhardt Rowland.
Jack grew up on R & R Ranch near Morgan, Texas, learning from his dad at an early age how to farm and ranch. He graduated from Kopperl High School in 1964, and in August of the same year, married his kindergarten sweetheart Annalee Steen Rowland.
He attended the University of Texas in Arlington and in 1969 he and Annalee returned to Morgan to work on the family ranch and were involved in several different business ventures.
Jack got his real estate license and later his broker's license making his career in real estate for over 45 years, along with working on the family ranch.
Jack served on several different boards for many years including Kopperl ISD school board, Johnson County Electric Co-op and San Miguel Board of Directors in Pleasanton, Texas. He was also a member of Kopperl Masonic Lodge, and he was recently awarded his 50 year pin.
Jack accepted Jesus Christ at a young age, and attended Kopperl Methodist Church. His love of the Lord led him to start a Children's Sunday school class. He then became Worship Leader and remained in that role for approximately 40 years. He also led an adult bible study for 12 years, and taught the men's Sunday school class. His calling was to spread the word of the Lord, and he committed his life to Him. He always felt something was missing if he couldn't attend church on Sunday.
Jack enjoyed being a good steward of his land and cattle. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially making memories with his granddaughters. He was always their number one fan, never missing a basketball game. He cared greatly for others, and he had a very generous heart. His spirit lives on in the hearts of all those who had the honor of knowing him.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Loree Rowland, Grandparents John and Muryl Rowland, Otto and Clara Bernhardt and Brother-in-law Larry Wheeler.
