Jerry Cecil Johnson was born on September 28, 1950 to Laura “Bea” Anderson-Johnson and Cecil “CA” Johnson in Cleburne, TX and departed this life on June 22, 2026 at the age of 75. Jerry was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and loyal friend. His greatest joy came from his family, followed closely by his antique cars (and talking cars with anyone who would listen), fishing, and capturing the perfect wildlife photos.
He shared a beautiful marriage of 32 years with his beloved wife, Jerri, building a life founded on love, adventures, and unwavering commitment. As a father, Jerry was a constant source of strength, wisdom, and guidance. He led by example, teaching the values of kindness, integrity, and hard work. His children always knew they were deeply loved and could count on his presence coupled with a touch of sarcasm. As a grandfather, he found joy in every moment spent with his grandchildren. Whether fishing, hunting, offering advice, or celebrating milestones, he created memories that will forever be treasured. To his grandchildren, he was a source of unconditional love, wisdom, and pride.
Beyond his devotion to family, Jerry will be remembered for his smile, generous heart, mischievous laugh and personality. For years he served his community as a self-employed HVAC professional. People could count on him 24/7 and his work was flawless. His legacy lives on not only in the memories he created but also in the values he instilled and the love he gave so freely.
He is survived by his wife, Jerri; daughter Laura Estes and husband, Kenneth; step-sons William Anson and wife Jackie, Bryan Anson and fiance Vanessa; Grandchildren: Ashlee Reed and husband Coleman, Aaron Estes and wife Caitlin, Siera Bone and husband Quinten, Miranda Anson, B’Elanna Anson and fiance Russell, Deanna Anson, Joe Anson, and Ellie Anson; Great Grandchildren: Bentley and Baylee Reed, Holden & Hayden Estes, Remington & Ezekiel Bone, Delilah Green and Vivian Fox; and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we take comfort in knowing that he is no longer in pain and his love remains with us always. His life was a blessing and he will be forever loved and deeply missed.
Funeral service will be held at 10 A.M., Monday, July 6, 2026 at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian. David Layman will officiate. Burial will follow at the Morgan Cemetery in Morgan, Texas.
