Jimmie Alan Clopton

August 21, 1965 — June 16, 2025

Fort Worth, Texas

Jimmie Alan Clopton, lovingly known to many as Alan, left this world on June 16, 2025, leaving behind a legacy filled with laughter, compassion, and an unyielding passion for life. Born on August 21, 1965, in Houston, Texas, Alan was a beacon of joy and warmth to all who knew him, with a heart as rich as the gardens he cultivated.

From an early age, Alan's brilliance shone brightly; he could read at the tender age of three and completed the entire series of Child Craft by just four. His insatiable love for reading set him apart, making him a treasure trove of knowledge who often playfully reminded his mother that he knew more than she did. His love for people and animals was evident throughout his life, and he infused joy into every interaction, often brightening the day with his great sense of humor.

Alan’s educational journey culminated in a Bachelor of Science degree in IT Network Management, following his graduation from Porter High School in Porter, Texas. His professional path was as diverse and rich as his personality. He worked as a Field Ops Tech for North Texas Contracting and held various positions, including Field Ops Manager for Design Floors Inc., Receiving Clerk for Garden Ridge, Construction Tech for Champion Homes, and Receiving Manager for Tractor Supply. Alan also served his country in the US Army Reserves in Puerto Rico before becoming an Active Duty Flight Ops Coordinator in 1983, demonstrating his dedication and commitment to service.

In addition to his impressive career and military service, Alan’s passion extended beyond his professional pursuits. A devoted gardener, he found solace and delight in growing herbs and spices, with a particular fondness for hot peppers. He was a collector of recipes, cherishing the moments spent cooking and sharing meals, memories etched in time, like the times he would prepare stuffed peppers with his brother, Aaron Clopton.

His proudest accomplishments resonated in the roles he held closest to his heart: being a loving father to Jeryd Clopton and becoming a cherished grandfather to Ezequiel. His deep affection for his family was apparent, as he created a nurturing environment filled with love. Alan also enjoyed close connections with his mother, Donna Hammond, his dad, David Hammond, and his father Jimmie Clopton, alongside his brother Aaron Clopton, who will miss him dearly, as will Mik McGraph, his special friend who is now taking care of his beloved dog, Daisy.

Although the shadows of loss are cast by the passing of Alan, the light he brought to the lives of those he loved will forever illuminate their paths. He joins the ranks of his beloved departed family—his grandparents Jarvil Dulan Clopton, Martha Clopton, Velton Mills, Edalee Mills, and many cherished aunts and uncles, who welcome him with open arms.

As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, let us remember Jimmie Alan Clopton not just for the achievements that highlighted his life but for the love he shared and the laughter he spread among friends and family. May his spirit reside in every garden blooming with life, and may his legacy of joy and kindness continue to inspire those who remain.
