Johnny Vara

Johnny Vara age 58 of Walnut Springs, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016 in Iredell, Texas.

Viewing only will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Lawson Funeral Home from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M..

Johnny Vara was born on May 22, 1958 in Santa Anna, Texas to Joe and Maria Gomez Vara. He went to school in Walnut Springs. After about the 6th grade he started working at various jobs to help make a living. Johnny loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. During his free time he loved to hunt and fish. Johhny has lived throughout Bosque and Somervell County all of his life. He married Rebecca Faith Wilson on February 6, 1992 in Walnut Springs, Texas.

He is survived by his children, Jonathan Vara and wife, Angela, of Walnut Springs, Ashley McClure and husband, Chad, of Iredell, Eliszabeth Dunn and husband, Thomas, of Iredell, Yolanda Martinez and husband, Francisco, of Walnut Springs, Maria Berdecia and husband, David, of California, Priscilla Garde of California; sisters, Maria Montoya of Glen Rose, Lydia Garcia of Wyoming, Dolores Enriquez of Joshua, Florinda Garcia of Oklahoma, Yoland Garcia of Oklahoma, Sandy Muniz of Walnut Springs; brothers, Joe Vara, Jr. of Walnut Springs, Joe Rudy Vara of Walnut Springs, Julian Vara of Joshua, Larry Vara of Austin; 20 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Maria Gomez Vara; brothers, Bonifarcia, Fred, Arturo, and Guillermo Vara.
