Jonathan Wiley Croom

Jonathan Wiley Croom, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, was born on January 9, 1958, in Waco, Texas. He departed this life peacefully on October 3, 2025, in Morgan, Texas, surrounded by those who cherished him most, including his beloved Lilly Ruth.

Jonathan, a dedicated equipment operator, honed his skills in the construction industry for many years. He was truly a jack of all trades and took immense pride in his work. However, his greatest passion lay not in machinery or construction, but rather in the warmth and love of his family, whom he considered his greatest hobby and accomplishment.

Known for his vibrant storytelling, Jonathan illuminated every room he stepped into with his infectious enthusiasm and laughter. Those fortunate enough to receive “one hell of a dad hug” from him would agree that his embrace had the power to make any day brighter and any problem seem smaller.

As a proud US Army Veteran, Jonathan served his country with honor. This service only deepened his sense of duty and commitment to family, values he carried throughout his life. His legacy of love, humor, and unwavering support remains embedded in the hearts of all who knew him.

Jonathan is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Croom; his cherished daughters, Jennifer Love and her husband Dwain, and Jessica Kubala and her husband Kurt; his sons, Jonathan Wiley Croom, II, and Jeramiah Croom along with his significant other Sharon Garrett; and his daughter Jerusha Sosnoskie and her husband Cody. He also leaves behind a legacy of love through his 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, each of whom he adored dearly. As well as his siblings; Horace Croom and wife Sandie, Deb Croom, and Steve Croom and wife Barb.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Croom, his father, James Croom, and his sister Elizabeth Croom, whose memories will forever be held close by his family.

Jonathan Wiley Croom’s life was a testament to the power of love, family, and the joyful moments that bind us together. He will be deeply missed and eternally remembered as a source of strength, laughter, and comfort.
