Jose Huerta V., born on August 8, 1972, in Mexico, passed away on May 28, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas, surrounded by his loving family.
Jose was a deeply cherished individual known for his kindness, hard work, and infectious sense of humor. For 30 years, he diligently worked as a cook at Montana's Restaurant in Stephenville, a career marked by dedication and pride in providing for his beloved wife, Rosemary.
Jose’s warmth and joyful spirit were best experienced during family gatherings, where he reveled in dance and celebration. Many fond memories remain of Jose dancing in the kitchen with his step-grandson, Dakota, their laughter and camaraderie echoing the happiness he so treasured. Though he never positioned himself as a traditional father or grandfather figure, Jose embraced his role as a devoted companion to Rosemary and a treasured member of the extended family. He particularly enjoyed holiday festivities and trips to Devine, Texas—times that exemplified his genuine love for being surrounded by those he cared about most.
His surviving family includes his devoted wife, Rosemary Alvarado; step-son Felix Alvarado, Jr.; step-daughter Rachel Ramirez; step-grandchildren Khloe Alvarado, Chance Simpson, Dakota Alvarado, and Selena Ramirez; as well as step-great-grandchild Jayden Gonzalez. His presence enriched their lives immeasurably.
A visitation to honor Jose’s life will be held on June 4, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Lawson Funeral Home, located at 803 N Main St, Meridian, TX 76665. Family, friends, and all who knew Jose are invited to gather in remembrance of a man who found joy in simple pleasures and the love of family.
