Juanita "Blondie" Bachhofer

Aug 12, 1941 — Jul 13, 2026

Kopperl, Texas

Juanita “Blondie” Bachhofer, age 84, passed away at 12:03 a.m. on July 13, 2026.

Juanita was born on August 12, 1941, to Adelaide and Lewis Jones. She graduated from Cleburne High School and spent most of her working life at Ralston Purina in Meridian, where she served as a lead employee in the case-out department. Her former co-workers remembered her as a good boss who was strict but always fair. She later retired to help care for her grandchildren, a responsibility she greatly enjoyed. Small in stature but strong in spirit, Juanita was a straight shooter with a no-nonsense personality. She was never one to sit around for long and could usually be found cleaning, organizing or making sure everything in her home was properly cared for. Her family and her well-maintained home were always among her greatest priorities. Juanita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She married her beloved husband, Jimmie Bachhofer, on September 24, 1963. They shared 60 years, 2 months and 11 days of marriage before his passing on December 5, 2023. She enjoyed traveling across the United States with Jimmie and their two dogs. She also loved playing dominoes, dancing, camping with friends and simply visiting with those she cared about. Many happy times were spent with friends at the Moose Lodge or gathered together in one another’s homes. Juanita was an excellent cook and baker. She especially enjoyed making party favors and treats for her grandchildren’s school celebrations. She collected cookie jars and Avon bottles, loved country music and was a devoted Elvis Presley fan. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Kopperl.

Juanita is survived by her sons, Crispin Vasquez and Jimmy Bachhofer and his wife, Terri, of Kopperl; her grandchildren, Neal Derrick of Hindsville, Arkansas, Nicole Riddle and her husband, Jake, of Nemo, Texas, and Brady Bachhofer and his wife, Madison, of Nashville, Tennessee; her great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Jordan, Presley and Jenda; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmie Bachhofer; her parents, Adelaide and Lewis Jones; her sisters, Boots Jones and Mary Sheffield; and her brothers, Virgal “Tut” Jones, Dub Jones and David Jones.

Juanita will be remembered for her honesty, strength, fairness and unwavering devotion to her family. Her straightforward nature, hardworking spirit and love for those around her will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 2 P.M., Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian. Visitation will take place an hour prior to the service. Brady Bachhofer will officiate.
