Kenneth Townley

Kenneth R. Townley, age 67, of Walnut Springs, passed away suddenly on Friday, December 27, 2013, at the Glen Rose Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 31, 2013, in the Vine Life Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Glen Rose, with Bro. Phil Murphy, Bro. Billy French, Bro. Theo Heartsill and Pete Weisenburger officiating. Burial was in the Fulton Cemetery near Walnut Springs. Pallbearers were: Durwood Koonsman, Todd Murphy, Darold Kinard, Tillman Townley, Joe Herring, Clint Murphy, Jim Hamby, Colby Townley, Dennis Cain, and Wayne Cain. Honorary Pallbearers were: Brooke Townley, Shelby Townley, Cameron Townley, Corey Townley, Brock Gilmore, Seth Gilmore, and Tony Gilmore.

Kenneth was born October 25, 1946, in Meridian, Texas. He grew up and was educated in Walnut Springs. On June 14, 1968, he was united in marriage to Connie Cain in Walnut Springs. Kenneth worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator for Bosque County. He was a member of the Morgan United Pentecostal Church.

He is survived by his wife, Connie, of Walnut Springs; children, Teresa Townley of Stephenville and Terry Townley and wife, Melissa, of Walnut Springs; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Douglas and husband, Pat, of Glen Rose, Shirley Mason of Glen Rose, Mildred Aikman and husband, Lonnie, of Glen Rose, Janett Aikman and husband, Onnie, of Glen Rose and Barbara Bourquin and husband, Mike, of Glen Rose; brothers, Daniel Townley and wife, Carla of Rio Vista and Robert Townley and wife, Cindy, of Cleburne; sister-in-law, Carrie Townley of Reno; aunt, Gertrude Jones of Granbury; uncle, Oven Townley and wife, Iva, of Glen Rose; number of nieces,nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, R. T. and Opal Townley; brother, Randal Townley; son-in-law, Ronnie Gilmore; brother-in-law, Edward Mason.
