Leonard Schallawitz

Leonard E. Schallawitz, age 85, of Kopperl, passed away Wednesday morning,June 15, 2016, at his residence.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, June 18, 2016, in the Kimball Cemetery on SH#174, near Kopperl.

Leonard was born October 12, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois, where he was raised and educated. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy and served for nearly 20 years before his retirement as a Chief Petty Office. He lived in Ft. Worth where he worked for Chance Voight for several years. He moved to Kopperl in 1985. Leonard was an accomplished artist and his work was displayed in El Chico Restaurants, The White House and other well know locations. Leonard also enjoyed work as a rock mason.

On August 21, 1992, he was united in marriage to Belinda Kay Rich.

He is survived by his wife, Belinda. of Kopperl, numerous other relatives and many friends.
