Leslie Bailey

Leslie Bailey, age 83 of Clifton, passed away early Monday morning, April 13, 2015, at his residence in Clifton.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 17, 2015, in the Lawson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tyrone Brown officiating. Burial was in the Kimball Cemetery near Kopperl.

His pallbearers were Zach Bailey, Braeden Bailey, Scott Stanley, Dasan Brown, Hunter McCracken, and Kenneth Bible.

A visitation was held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, April 16, 2015, in the Lawson Funeral Home Chapel.

Leslie S. Bailey was born February 10, 1932 in China Spring, Texas to Oscar L. Bailey and Annie Lee Brock Bailey. He was raised and educated at China Spring.
After his school years, Mr. Bailey enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1952 and served during the Korean Conflict. On April 9, 1955, he married Glendell Evelyn Powers in Lawton, Oklahoma. The young couple soon moved to Fort Worth where Mr. Bailey worked for Bell Helicopter, retiring after 27 years of employment with Bell. After his retirement, Leslie and Glendell moved to Clifton where they have made their home for the past 18 years. Mr. Bailey enjoyed riding his tractor and shredding and making areas of land look neat and cared for. Leslie was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Clifton.

Survivors include his wife, Glendell Evelyn Bailey of Clifton; his daughter, Jenifer Rebecca Bailey of Fort Worth; his grandsons, Zachariah Caleb Bailey of Cleburne and Braeden Myles Bailey of Cleburne; and a brother, Oscar L. Bailey of Robinson.

Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar L. and Annie Brock Bailey; a brother, Joe Bailey; and sisters, Opal Grace Smith, Ortence Wetch, and Minnie Hajek.
