Lewis Lee Mears age 89 of Glen Rose, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2020 in a Glen Rose nursing facility with family by his side.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 A.M., Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at the Glen Rose Cemetery. Bro. Tom Watson will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M., Monday, July 27, 2020 at the Vine Life Tabernacle Church in Glen Rose off of Hwy 144. Pallbearers will be Austin Law, Kevin Olsen, Marshall Bartholomew, Tommy J. Couch, Billy Glover, and Bryan Maxey.
Lewis Mears was born on August 3, 1930 in Brazos Point, Texas to Lee Simpson and Beatrice Powell Mears. Lewis married Wanda Ruth Taylor on June 10, 1955 in Cleburne, Texas. He retired from the Texas State Highway Department after numerous years of faithful service.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Wanda Mears of Glen Rose; daughter, Rhonda Duffie and husband, Billy Joe, of Glen Rose; granddaughter, April Couch and husband, Tommy, of Granbury; great-grandchildren, Angelle Gamon of Granbury, and Colten Smith of Granbury; great-great-grandchildren, Brandon Cole Fierro, Jr., and Raylynn Fierro; also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Preceded in death by his parents; five siblings, Alice "Sis" Roten, Bessie Dixon, Clyde Mears, Martha Moon, and Fannie Bratcher.
