Lissie Parchman Vivion, lovingly known to many as Melissa, was born on July 1, 1945, in Rossville, Texas, and she graced this world with her warmth and kindness until May 5, 2025, when she peacefully passed away at her home, entering the arms of the Lord in her sleep.
Melissa led a life filled with vivid adventures, compassionate caregiving, and an unwavering love for all creatures great and small. As an esteemed airline flight attendant, she dedicated her career to making every journey special for the travelers who crossed her path. Many fondly remember her stories from flight attendant school, particularly the tale of the 24-hour float test, emphasizing her resilience and determination.
Her personal life was also rich with cherished memories, including camping trips in Wyoming, where she often delighted in wandering off to explore her surroundings. She was known for the laughter that echoed through her household, frequently at her own expense as her husband would tease her about being perplexed with the two remote controls that changed the television channels switching between several shows.
Melissa graduated from Sommerset High School and carried with her a deep passion for animals, taking care of her beloved cats with remarkable devotion. Her welcoming spirit extended beyond her furry friends; she had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel at home. Shopping was another one of her joys, where she could often be found indulging in her favorite pastime while spreading her contagious smile.
She will be sorely missed by her family, including her sons, Jason and wife Misty; Bruce and wife, and her daughter, Misti, and husband, Harry. Her heart swelled with pride for her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought light and joy to her life.
Melissa is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James "Bob" Vivion, whose playful spirit and teasing nature were a cherished part of her life, as well as her parents, Marvin and Jolene Parchman. The love she shared with them and the memories crafted over the years will forever live in the hearts of those who knew her.
In remembering Lissie Carrol Vivion, we celebrate a life marked by love, laughter, and a genuine care for others. Her legacy will continue to inspire and warm the lives of many, as her memory is interwoven into the very fabric of her family and friends.
Arrangements were entrusted to Lawson Funeral Home, Meridian, Texas 254-435-2792.
