Lois Jean Mounce, age 80, of Walnut Springs, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2016, in a Waco hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 3, 2017, in the Walnut Springs Baptist Church. Rev. T. J. Joyner officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Walnut Springs. Visitation will be two hours prior to service time.
Her pallbearers will be Bob Williams, Jim Williams, Steve Finley, Wayne Finley, Daniel Mounce, Benny Damron and Mike Mounce.
Jean was born June 26, 1936, in Carlton, Texas, daughter of Gordon Leo Finley, Sr. and Dama Turney Finley. On September 3, 1955, she was united in marriage to Charles Weldon Mounce in Glen Rose, Texas. After the marriage, she and her husband lived in Walnut Springs until 1963 then moved to Newton. Later moving to Daisetta, Groves, Bridge City, Houston and then returned to Walnut Springs in 1988 to enjoy their retirement on the family farm and ranch. Charles passed away on October 13, 1989. Jean was a very active and faithful member of the Walnut Springs Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, David Mounce and his wife, Barbara, of Granbury;
grandchildren, Daniel and Ana Mounce of Granbury; her life long friend and sister-in-law, Faye Finley, of Walnut Springs; number of other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Dama Finley; husband, Charles Weldon Mounce; brothers, Gordon Leo Finley, Jr. and Robert Turney Finley.
