Meridian

Margaret Eddie Maness age 94, of Meridian, departed this world on March 9, 2022 in Lampasas, Texas and is now at peace in her heavenly home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M., Monday, March 14, 2022 at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian with Bro. R.C. Kelly officiating. Burial will be in the Meridian Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Sunday, March 13, 2022 also at Lawson Funeral Home from 4 P.M. until 6 P.M. Pallbearers will be Paul Dye, Greg Dye, Clint Dye, Cory Lane, Dustin Dye, Hunter Dye, Tyler Betros and Gavin Lane.

Eddie was born on January 13, 1928 in San Angelo, Texas to Vida Eastland Webb. She was raised and attended school in Bosque County. Eddie married O.C. (Cotton) Lane, Jr. in 1946. Together they raised four children, Cheryl, Randy, Karen and Tim. Cotton passed away in 1968. In 1973, Eddie married Emmitt Maness, bringing into the family Dale, Don, Elaine and Donna. Emmitt passed away in 1981. Eddie loved music and traveled to Branson, MO for many years with family and friends. She also enjoyed attending bluegrass festivals with friends. In 1984 she was blessed with the opportunity to travel to the Holy Land and later was guest speaker at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Norse to share this experience. Eddie worked at Wall's Industries in Clifton for more than 20 years as a machine operator and supervisor. Being bored with retirement she then worked as cashier in the lunchrooms at Meridian ISD where she enjoyed the interaction with the students. She retired for the second time at the age of 91 after more than 20 years at the school. For several years she volunteered at the local nursing home and Meals on Wheels. She sold Mary Kay for over 45 years. Eddie was a faithful member of Riverside Baptist Church for more than 50 years and had great love for her church family. She was strong in her faith and enjoyed sitting on her front porch to read her Bible after retirement.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Cheryl Dye and husband, Emmit, of Senatobia, Mississippi, Karen Dehnel of Lampasas; sons, Randy Lane of Meridian, Tim Lane and wife, Jan, of Santa Fe, Texas; grandchildren, Paul, Clint, Greg, Jodi, Kisha, Tamera, Cory and Kami; great-grandchildren, Britney, Patrick, Martin, Kyla, Gavin, Dustin, Hunter, Gracie, Emma and C.J.; sister, Teddy Harris of Joshua; brothers, Jodie Wheat of Canyon, Joel Wheat and wife, Carolyn, of Humble; numerous other relatives and many friends.

Eddie had a deep and unconditional love for her family and friends. She touched many and will be sorely missed.
