Margie Clark

Margie G. Clark, 89, of Vancouver, Washington, and formerly of the Kopperl/Lakeside Village,, Texas area, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014 in Vancouver. Funeral services were held at 1:00 P. M., Friday, February 28, 2014 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel in Meridian, Texas with Rev. Richard Creech officiating. Following the chapel service, interment was at 3:00 P. M. in the Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, Texas.

Mrs. Clark was born August 7, 1924 in Kosciasko, Mississippi to Julius M. Taylor and Maggie Brunt Taylor. She graduated from high school at Kosciasko, Mississippi. After graduating from high school Margie lived in Waco, Texas for 14 years and took classes at McLennan Community College. In January of 1954, Margie married Capt. Raymond Clark in Gutherie, Oklahoma. During her marriage she lived in Oklahoma, Alabama, and England. After the death of her husband, Capt. Raymond Clark, who was killed in a two plane mid-air collision in Wethersfield, England on January 11, 1957, while serving in the United States Air Force, Margie returned to Waco. She lived in Waco for a while before moving to Fort Worth, Texas and later spent a short time in Houston and Arlington, Texas until she retired at Lake Whitney in 1984. Mrs. Clark worked for the Federal Government as an Area Manager for the United States Treasury Department for twenty-four and one half years; from 1960 until 1984. She was a dedicated and faithful member of the Baptist churches and some of her special requests were to have "lots of music" - "a celebration" - "hardly mention my name but let Jesus Christ be glorified."

She is survived by a daughter, Sherri Clark Priestman and husband, Andrew, of Vancouver, WA.; nephews, Joe Munn, Lanny Moore, David Moore, all of Kosciasko, MS., M. M. Munn of MS. and Terry Munn of Tennessee. Numerous cousins and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Dell Moore, in 1995; and her husband, Capt. Raymond Clark.
