Mary Rushing

Mary Katherine Rushing, age 91, of Kopperl, Texas, passed away on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 5, 2017, in a Glen Rose Nursing Facility.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, in the Kimbell Cemetery near Kopperl. Rev. Richard Creech officiating.

Visitation will be from 5 to7 P.M., Friday, Feb. 10, in the Lawson Funeral Home Chapel.

Mary Katherine Christian, was born October 25, 1925, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. A daughter of the late Charles P.Christian and Stella B. Brown Christian. She was raised and grew up in Walnut Ridge. It was there on October 11, 1941, that she was united in marriage to Lavell James Rushing. She was a former resident of Rockford, Ill. and moved to Smithville, Texas, in 1962. In 1971, she moved to Kopperl. Mrs. Rushing was a retired nurses aide at the Meridian Manor. Mrs. Rushing was a member of the Kopperl Church of Christ.

She is survived by a son, Ronnie Rushing and his wife, Serena, of Kopperl; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren; number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lavell, in 1997, daughters, Wanda Watson in 2006 and Sue Blanchard in 2013.
