Max E. Boyd, Sr., age 55, of Iredell, passed away Saturday morning, March 14, at the family farm outside of Iredell.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian with Rev. Don Caldwell conducting the services. Interment was in the Mitchell Cemetery in Iredell, Texas.
Pallbearers were Max Boyd, Jr., Billy Boyd, Lowell Boyd, Chris Graves, Steve Allen, and David Bullard.
Max Edwin Boyd, Sr. was born May 17, 1959 in Meridian, Texas to LaMona Joyce Low Boyd and W. E. Boyd, Jr. and was the youngest of five children. He attended school at Iredell and graduated from Iredell High School. Max loved to play basketball. Max was an electrician by trade and worked in the Dallas and Ft. Worth area for several years before returning to Iredell in the late 1980's to live on his grandparent's farm just outside of Iredell. Max had many interests and loved rural living. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting, fishing, and riding his horse. Max's true loves were his son and grandson. Max Jr., Misty, and Gavin live in Oklahoma City, OK, but Max made the trip frequently to visit. He adored his grandson, Gavin, and Gavin loved his grandpa. Max would often bring Gavin to the farm to enjoy the country life for a week at a time.
Mr. Boyd is survived by his son: Max E. Boyd, Jr. and wife, Misty, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandson: Gavin Boyd of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brothers: William (Billy) Boyd of Iredell, Larry Boyd and wife, Lezlie, of Tyler, Lowell Boyd and wife, Kathy, of Georgetown; sister: Linda Boyd Graves of Georgetown; nephews: Chris Graves and wife, Alison, of Georgetown, Bryan Boyd of Austin, Hunter Boyd of Austin, and Tucker Boyd of Lackland AFB, San Antonio; nieces: Amy Graves Schroeder of Round Rock, Cassie Salyer Howard and husband, Jason, of Pflugerville, and Leslie Boyd Mobley and husband, Dillon, of San Antonio; uncle and aunt: LaWan and Pat Low of Waco; several cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Max is preceded in death by his parents, W.E. and LaMona Low Boyd.
