Patricia L. McGowan, age 79, of Meridian, passed away Sunday evening, Dec. 22, 2013, in the Goodall-Witcher Hospital in Clifton after a brief illness.
The family will have a memorial service at a date and time to be announced.
Patricia was born Dec. 18, 1934, in Ishpeming, Michigan, a daughter of William and Elizabeth Sanders O'Connell. She graduated from Ishpeming High School and enlisted in the U. S. Navy and served for nearly 3 years. Following her time in the service, she spent most of her life in San Francisco, California working for Bell Telephone and raising her children. She was a member of the Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Elizabeth; brothers, William, Jr. and Joseph; sister, Gloria, and a daughter, Catherine Hinds.
Patricia is survived by a son, Patrick McGowan, of Albertville, Alabama; grandchildren, Tabitha Trach of Whitney, Sabrina Trach of Meridian, Billy Trach, Jr. of Clifton and Christopher Trach of Meridian; great-grandchildren, Dyna Potter, Stephen Potter, Maddison Trach, Jaylyn Roberts and Jase Roberts;
sister, Mary Wagner and her husband, Paul, of Laguna Park; brother, Edgar O'Connell of Myrtle Point, Oregon; number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
