Peggy McDowell

Peggy Howell McDowell, age 86, who resided in the Spring Creek Community of Bosque County near Iredell, Texas, passed away early Friday morning, Nov. 24, 2017, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, in the Spring Creek Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until service time. Burial in the Spring Creek Cemetery.

Peggy was born Feb. 23, 1931, in Everman, Texas and was a daughter of the late Jesse Herman Howell and Johnnie Fuller Howell. After her mother's death her father re-married and Reta French Howell became her mother. She married Fred McDowell in 1948 and he preceded her in death on Oct. 10 of this year.

Peggy spent many years in service to the Lord as the wife of a Music and Youth minster. She often worked in the offices of the churches she and Fred were called to serve. She was devoted to her children, grandchildren, and truly enjoyed her great-grandchildren and friends.

Survivors include her daughters, Freida M. Golden and husband, Bill; Beverly Naylor and husband, Richard, all of the Spring Creek Community; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Doris and husband, G. W. of Ft. Worth; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
