Robert (Bob) Dennis

Robert (Bob) E. Dennis, age 86, of Iredell, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016, in a Waco hospital.

Memorial services were held at 1:00 P.M., on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at the Iredell Masonic Lodge located on SH. #6, in Iredell, with Steve McCoy officiating.

Bob was born November 9, 1929, in Iredell, Texas He was a son of the late Robert A. Dennis and Jewel Snelson Dennis. Bob attended school in Iredell. He served with the U. S. Army during the Korean conflict. After leaving the service, he began his career in the oil and chemical business where he was the operations director. He resided in Hico from 1982 until moving to the family farm near Iredell in 1995. Bob was a very active member of the Iredell Masonic Lodge and recently received his 50 year membership pin.

He is survived by his wife, June Dennis, of Iredell; children, Linda Dennis of Buchanan Dam, Texas, Robert N. Dennis and wife, Suzanne, of Abilene, Melissa Bingham and husband, Garlan, of De Leon and Cynthia Scott of Brownwood; step-children, Vance Sherwood and wife, Carla, of Baytown, Theresa James and Paul Gregory of Corpus Christi; 3 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren; his brother, Jackie Wayne Dennis and wife, Frances, of Salinas, California; number of other relatives and friends.
