Ronald Locker

Ronald Winston "Ronnie" Locker age 75 of Iredell, passed away suddenly Sunday, January 7, 2018 in Clifton, Texas.

Funeral services will be 2 P.M., Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Iredell with Rev. Kevin Anderson and Rev. Wayne Lewis officiating. Visitation will be from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M., Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian. Burial will be at the Mitchell Cemetery in Iredell. Pallbearers will be Steve McCoy, Bradley Fletcher, Louis Witt, Cory Schibler, Tristan Schibler, and Tom Robinson.

Ronald Winston "Ronnie" Locker was born on May 4, 1942 to George Locker and Durine McCoy at Holt Hospital in Meridian, Texas. He lived his entire life in Iredell, Texas graduating from Iredell High School in 1960. Ronnie met the love of his life, Linda Ruth McPeek in the summer of 1961. After a six month courtship, they married in December of that year and spent 56 wonderful years together. He enjoyed gardening, camping, and going to blue grass festivals where they made many life long friends. Family was very important to Ronnie and he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and his great-grandchild. Ronnie started pipe-lining after graduating from school. He worked in several locations over the next couple of years. When their 1st child was born he made the decision to return home, where he worked at Gosdin's Feed Mill and then as a tractor mechanic for Lynn Hanshew in Hico before securing the job he retired from at Lockheed Martin after 35 years. In his retirement he also worked a number of years for the Iredell School District where he was a favorite of many of the students. Ronnie was a loyal member of the First United Methodist Church in Iredell. He served as a trustee and spent numerous hours doing whatever needed doing around the church. He will be truly missed by all.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Linda Locker of Iredell; daughters, Cindy Schibler and husband, Gary, of Iredell, Rhonda Keese of Meridian; grandsons, Cory Schibler and wife, Crystal, of College Station, Tristan Schilber and wife, Yessenia, of Meridian; great-granddaughter, Rylie Schibler of College Station; brother-in-law, Jerry McPeek and wife, DeDe of Rockdale; numerous cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, George and Rilla Durine McCoy Locker.
