Roy Eugene Martindale

Nov 14, 1977 — Jul 2, 2026

Morgan, Texas

Roy Eugene Martindale, beloved husband, devoted father, treasured brother, and cherished friend, passed away suddenly on July 2, 2026, at the river in Blum, Texas, while doing what he loved most. Born on November 14, 1977, in Cleburne, Texas, Roy brought warmth, laughter, and an unmistakable presence to all who knew him.

From an early age, Roy embodied spirit and ambition that would define his life. He graduated from Blum High School, where those around him quickly recognized his sharp mind, humor, and the never-ending energy with which he approached every day. He carried this drive into his career, proudly becoming a certified Journeyman Lineman. Roy worked tirelessly, first for others and eventually as a business owner—testaments to his remarkable determination and grit. Among his proudest achievements was being recognized as one of the best in his field, though those who loved him would say that his greatest accomplishment, by far, was his family.

Roy’s heart was as boundless as his enthusiasm. His family meant everything to him: his loving wife, Chelsea Hargiss; his children, Kyler Martindale, Paisley Martindale, and Julian Reyes—all of whom brought endless pride and joy into his life. Memories with his children—boating, fishing, and especially those impromptu mornings when Roy would wake the household with his infectious singing or the playful banging of pots and pans—are etched lovingly in their hearts.

His home was often filled with the sound of his guitar, especially as he perfected his rendition of “Country Boy Can Survive.” Music, hunting, fishing, and being outdoors were his passions. Roy made these memories extraordinary by inviting those he cherished to join him. His friends and family will always remember the laughter shared during hunting trips, the quiet contentment of a successful day fishing, and the magic of those evenings spent listening to him play.

Roy was a family man in every sense—he had a huge heart, an unwavering commitment to those he loved, and an ambition to secure the best for them. He was funny, quick-witted, fiercely loyal, and his presence brought comfort and reassurance. He relished every moment spent with his family, lighting up their lives with his unique ability to turn the ordinary into something unforgettable.

He leaves behind an adoring family: his wife, Chelsea Hargiss; his children, Kyler Martindale, Paisley Martindale, and Julian Reyes; his nephew, Hunter Fugitt; and his sisters, Patty Cooper, Tissie Martindale, Sharan Jo Martindale Lackey, and Terri West.

Roy is reunited in passing with his beloved son, Thaddeus William Martindale; his mother, Clara Martindale; his father, Thaddeus Ray Martindale, Sr.; his brother, Thaddeus Ray Martindale, Jr.; and his dear niece, Raylene Russell, each of whom he loved deeply and missed dearly.

Those who knew Roy will remember his heartfelt laughter, his generosity, and the way he made every person feel seen and important. His legacy lives on in his children, his work, and the countless memories he created with family and friends.

A visitation will be held on July 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Lawson Funeral Home, 803 N Main St, Meridian, TX 76665. Family, friends, and all who wish to honor Roy’s remarkable life are invited to attend.

Though Roy has cast off into peaceful waters, the love, light, and laughter he shared will forever ripple through the lives of those he leaves behind. He truly was, and always will be, a country boy who could survive anything—except the ache his absence has left in so many hearts.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lawson Funeral Home 254-435-2792.
