Stanley Jorden Myers

Stanley Jorden Myers was born on June 2, 1959, in Meridian, Texas. On July 22, 2026, he left this world in the most fitting place—at Bosque Valley Golf Course, surrounded by his cherished friends and engaged in the game he adored. 

Stanley’s presence was a gift to all who knew him. He shared a lifetime of laughter and steadfast dedication with his beloved wife Gay, whose partnership with Stanley was the foundation upon which they built their family. Together, they raised a daughter, Pamela, who, along with her husband Michael, carries forward Stanley’s legacy of kindness and integrity. Stanley also found immense pride and joy in his special son, Scott Barker and wife, Amanda. Stanley worked tirelessly for Sherwin Williams for 32 years before retiring in July of 2025. Upon retirement Stanley's new job became a full time golfer at Bosque Valley Golf Course. 

His love did not stop at his own children. Stanley’s heart expanded with other members of his family, his grandchildren Jordan Williams and fiance, Kyle Chavez, Ethan Williams, Skiler Coronado and Dustin Chatfield, Dylan Barker, Carson Barker, Brooklyn Barker and Tatum Smith were each blessed with his gentle guidance, silly stories, and unconditional support. Every grandchild knew Stanley as their greatest fan, quick to celebrate their triumphs and always offering wise, loving words. The next generation—great-grandchildren Elsa Coronado, Ron Chatfield, Oliver Chatfield, and Baylor Barker—felt the warmth of his embrace, even in their earliest years, and will carry the memory of his boundless love with them always.

Stanley’s affection for family extended to those joined through marriage. He is remembered fondly by his sisters-in-law, Bilie Ruth Jourden and husband, Ricky, Arlene Swiney, and Donna Jones; his brothers-in-law, Michael Drain and wife, Cindy, and Doug Swiney, each of whom shared in the joyous occasions, quiet moments, and loving memories that Stanley so generously created. Being the favorite brother-in-law, was one of his latest and biggest accomplishments at the family reunions.

He was preceded in death by his father Clifford and his mother, Betty Jo Harris, whose love and values shaped Stanley into the man so dearly loved today. Their legacy, rekindled and expanded by Stanley, lives on through his actions, his stories, and the lessons he passed on to every member of his family.

Stanley’s days were measured not just in years, but in impacts—big and small. Whether cheering at a grandchild’s event, lending a helping hand to a neighbor, or quietly teeing off with friends at the golf course, Stanley created a world where everyone felt seen, valued, and treasured. His love and laughter, so generously given, echo in the lives he touched and the home he built.

A life as rich as Stanley’s calls for remembrance and gratitude. Visitation will be held at Lawson Funeral Home, 803 N Main St, Meridian, TX 76665, on July 26, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A funeral service celebrating Stanley’s life will take place at the First Methodist Church in Meridian, 300 N Main St, Meridian, TX 76665, on July 27, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., followed by interment at Morgan Cemetery, County Rd 1120, Morgan, TX 76671, at 3:30 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Harvie Welch, Mike Gann, Cole Word, Greg Anderson, Bobby Coffman and Kenneth Guinn. Following the interment a reception will be held at Bosque Valley Golf Course in Meridian to continue to share the stories of Stanley. 

Though Stanley Jorden Myers has left the fairways of this life, he leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering compassion that will endure in the hearts of all who knew him. His story is a reminder of the beauty found in a well-lived life—a story that continues, told and retold in treasured memories and in the loving embrace of a grateful family.
