It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Tia Marie Reed, age 53, who was born on December 17, 1971, and passed away on September 16, 2025. A devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, aunt, and friend, Tia’s kindness and strength touched all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, love, and laughter that continues to inspire.
A lifelong Wyoming resident, Tia was born in Cheyenne and was raised in Rawlins. She pursued her passion for education by earning a master’s degree in special education from the University of Wyoming. For many years, she taught in the Laramie School District, making a lasting impact on her students. She later became certified as an orientation and mobility specialist, where she was admired for her dedication to helping individuals who are blind live fuller, more independent lives.
Beyond the classroom, Tia embraced adventure. She loved camping, hunting, fishing, and traveling with family and friends. Fearless at heart, she once went bear hunting and proudly completed the Wyoming Cutt-Slam. She was a pillar in her community, but above all, she was deeply cherished by her family for her selflessness, joy, and unwavering love.
Tia is survived by her husband, Shawn Reed; her children, Josh Reed (Kailey Reed) and Brittney Rindler (Colton Rindler); her parents, Mark and Deb Kordus; and her siblings, Misty, Beth, and Butch. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A memorial service will be held on September 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home, 2133 E Rainbow Ave, Laramie, WY 82070
