Timothy Jason Thetford

February 2, 1983 — December 12, 2025

Kopperl, Texas

Timothy Jason “TJ” Thetford, born on February 2, 1983, went to his heavenly home on December 12, 2025, at the age of 42. TJ lived in Kopperl, Texas, with his beloved wife, Carie Thetford.

TJ loved life and everything it had to offer — fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time with his family. He was a passionate sports fan who especially loved his Dallas Cowboys, never missing a game. When the Cowboys weren’t playing, he could always be found watching college football, old reruns of games from years past, or tuning in to hunting and fishing shows. Wherever he was — at home, in the hospital, or anywhere else — there was sure to be football on the TV.There are no words that can fully capture who TJ was — you truly had to know him to understand how special he was. He faced a long and difficult fight with persistent infections, but his strength and spirit never wavered.

He was blessed to return home and pass peacefully, just as he wanted, surrounded by love. On that day, heaven gained a very special angel.TJ will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Carie; his mother, Becky; his father, T.J.; his stepdaughter, Octavia, and her husband, William; and their children — Annabelle, Parker, John, Jude, and baby Easton. He will also be dearly missed by his brothers, Jason and wife Cat, Philip and wife Amanda, and Josh; his sisters, Jacey and husband Wayne, and Jessica and husband Brandon; along with countless nieces and nephews whom he absolutely adored.

TJ’s love for his family was endless, and his presence will be deeply felt and forever remembered. While we grieve his loss, we take comfort in knowing there is a joyful celebration in heaven as TJ is reunited with his son, Hagen; his stepdad, Clyde; his dear stepchildren, Eddie and Amanda; and his beloved grandparents. What a beautiful reunion that must be.

TJ will be cremated, and a celebration of his life will be held at Navarro Mills at a later date. He will be forever loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lawson Funeral Home 254-435-2792
