Obituary

William Theodore Offutt, 76, of Walnut Springs, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, peacefully, with his loving wife by his side.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 10 A.M., Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian. Pastor T.J. Joyner will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Fulton Cemetery near Walnut Springs. Visitation will be on Friday, November 21, 2025 also at Lawson Funeral Home from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M.

William was born on March 17, 1949, to Theodore Preston Offutt and Susie Elizabeth Offutt. He grew up in Walnut Springs, where he learned the values of hard work, faith, and family. On May 21, 1969, William married Cynthia Kay Harper in Glen Rose, Texas. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family. They shared 56 wonderful years of marriage. William spent all of his 50-year career working for Flat Top Ranch, where he was known for his strong work ethic, honesty, and willingness to help others. Outside of work, he loved spending time with his family and tending to his cattle. His family will always remember his unwavering love and dedication to all those for which he cared.


William is survived by his wife, Kay, of Walnut Springs; his daughter, Christy Halbert, and her husband, Wayne, of Walnut Springs; his grandchildren, Lauren Larsen and her husband, Jake, and his great-grandsons, Wyatt and Jack Larsen, all of Cody, Wyoming, and Madison Martin and her husband, Matthew, of Stephenville, Texas. He is also survived by other family members and friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Preston and Susie Elizabeth Offutt; his sister, Ophelia Elizabeth Nunn; his brother, Riley Franklin Gosdin; and other loved ones who welcomed him home.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lawson Funeral Home, Meridian, Texas 254-435-2792.
