Betty Jo Watson age 86, of Clifton and formerly of Walnut Springs, passed away on February 21, 2020 in a Clifton nursing facility.
Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M., Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Lawson Memorial Chapel in Walnut Springs. Rev. T.J. Joyner will officiate. Graveside services will be at 1 P.M., Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at the Restland Cemetery in Gatesville, Texas. Visitation will be from 9 A.M. until service time on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Lucas Speer, Joey Speer, Eddy Speer, Ethan Mitchell, Colton Kirby, and Jimmy Fowler. Honorary Pallbearers will be Will Speer, Chris Collins, and Mike Collins.
Betty Jo Bourland was born on June 8, 1933 in Mason, Texas to Coy and Mary Jane Conley Bourland.
Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Jimmy Mitchell of Glen Rose, Jerry Mitchell and wife, Janet, of Cleburne, Tracy Elliston and wife, Debbie, of Roswell, New Mexico, Tommy Mitchell and wife, Sherry, of Lakeside Village, and Bobby Mitchell and wife, Sherry, of Bridgeport; daughters, Dorothy Speer and husband, Tommy, of Meridian, Carlyn Speer, and husband, T.C., of Walnut Springs, Linda Jones and husband, George, of Lakeside Village, Brenda Collins and husband, Mike, of Missouri, Judy Kirby and husband, Doug, of Carbon, Texas, and Janie Mitchell of Clifton; 26 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Preceded in death by her husbands, Edmon C. Mitchell, John Reeves, and Phillip J. Watson; daughter, Betty Ann Fowler; son-in-law, Lilvie Ernest Fowler; and daughter-in-law, Connie Gail Mitchell.
