C W Williams age 79, of Walnut Springs, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.

Memorial services with military honors will be at 1 P.M., Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Walnut Springs Baptist Church in Walnut Springs, Texas. Pastor T.J. Joyner will officiate.

C W Williams was born on November 26, 1940 in McKinney, Texas to Marvin Wilford and Willie Faye Cunningham Williams. He married Gloria Gay Bailey on June 1, 1974 in McKinney, Texas.

CW attended high school in McKinney, Texas, where he graduated in 1959. After graduation, he attended Texas Tech University, where he played football and was also a member of the Army ROTC. After graduation, he joined the Army as a helicopter pilot and was stationed in Vietnam where he obtained the rank of Captain prior to his discharge. Following his service, CW began a 30 year career as an Educator and Coach. He coached at numerous high schools throughout the state of Texas touching countless lives of his student athletes. CW was a man of unwavering faith in the Lord which he was happy to tell anyone who was willing to listen. He was also a devoted father and husband. He and his wife Gay adopted 8 children, raising them as their own in a loving Christian environment.

Left behind to cherish his memories are his wife, Gay Williams of Walnut Springs; children, Craig Williams and wife, Tammy, of Lubbock, Casey Wayne Williams and wife, Deborah, of Haslett, Clay W. Williams and wife, Cathy, of Moody, John Michael Williams and wife, Royann, of Hawaii, Steven Paul Williams and wife, Beverly, of Brownwood, David Eric Williams and wife, Kim, of Zephyr, Noah Lewis Williams and wife, Kristie, of Brownwood, and Julie Elizabeth Williams of Walnut Springs; 22 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and 1 on the way; brother, Tommy Williams and wife, Barbara, of Commerce; sisters, Polly Williams Bordelon, and Martha Ann Carpenter, and husband, Jerry; numerous other relatives and many friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Wilford and Willie Fay Cunningham Williams; brother, Billy Gene Williams; and granddaughter, Kennedy Elizabeth Williams.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Gary Sinise Veterans Organization, your local VFW, or the Walnut Springs Baptist Church.
